Man's body found at landfill

EAST SPARTA - Workers at Countywide Recycling and Disposal Facility on Gracemont St. SW, East Sparta, discovered the body of a black man while using equipment to push through debris at about 7:15 this morning.
EAST SPARTA - Workers at Countywide Recycling and Disposal Facility on Gracemont St. SW, East Sparta, discovered the body of a black man while using equipment to push through debris at about 7:15 this morning.
The man is believed to be from the Canton area and was carrying identification, according to Stark County Sheriff Tim Swanson, whose department is investigating.
The sheriff’s office will release the man’s name as soon as deputies contact his family, according to a press release. Swanson indicated the man might have been sleeping in a trash bin that was emptied and taken to the landfill.
Stark County Coroner Dr. P.S. Murthy will rule on the cause of death.
